Moments to share:
♥ Waking up early on Thursday to go to Kem Bina Semangat a day earlier to set up everything and our final practice. I brought GUMMY BEARS!!! Heehee. Which finished the next day. :( As we were practicing, it didn't really felt like Rally yet, not even when we had a full-dress rehearsal wearing our team shirts on. It felt like, 3rd Training Camp in fact.
♥ Getting our shirts. At first I wasn't so keen on this year's design. Yes, it's more like a jersey, which is why it felt plain to me. And it feels so weird having your name on the back of it. Marc was telling us how wearing this shirt is a burden, that everyone will be looking out for you, how if you stepped across the line, it will effect the whole team badly. Looking at my shirts now, it really brings back all the good memories. :)
♥ Moments before the first bus arrived on Friday. Oh gosh oh gosh. Suddenly, the realization that Rally is here smacks me on the face. We are actually going to outreach to all of the youths!! It really is happening!! I didn't know what to expect!
♥ I was freaking out for Opening Night. Seriously. Being leader and all, I was like double-checking, telling others to triple-check our props for Icebreakers and Rules & Regulations. My heart was pounding so fast and hard that I could hear it in my ears! Then, came the team prayer. Something magical happened. All my fears, worries, was taken away. I felt so calm and I knew, the Holy Spirit has came down on us.
♥ Our icebreakers were a BLAST! Especially the Classroom Scenes. Gosh, we have practiced those scenes so many times til' we got so sick of them! We couldn't laugh at all! So imagine our amazement when the laughter could be heard after every single line! As we were acting, in our hearts all of us were like, WHAT? So funny meh? Haha! We sure had tons of fun acting, singing and dancing on stage! Praise the Lord!
♥ Singing the theme song for the first time was so nerve-wracking! I was quite nervous at that point, really! Anne was really really nervous as it was like her first time onstage and she had to begin the song with Ben! I can be glad for my hope is in the Lord! :)
♥ Waking up at 5 the next morning. Tell you, I nearly died. The water was freezing cold!
♥ Personally, I really liked the sessions this year. I think they are the best of the lot. Jude, Marc, Mike Harman, Laura, Uncle Edward & Aunty Catherine were stupendous! I think what they shared with us were really good as they related very well to the problems youths face these days. Sessions were educational, and I can say, that it struck a chord inside everyone as everyone had at one point or are going through what they shared.
♥ I really enjoyed all the praise & worship sessions. Singing out loud, glorifying HIS name!
♥ Getting to know all the participants. Great people! I really enjoyed mingling about and making tons of new friends! Haha, I realized that I haven't seen half of the people whom are from SIC! Surprised me so much when I kept hearing "I am from SIC." My response? HUH? *stares* All in all, they were AWESOME peeps! Hope to see you guys at next year's Rally! :)
♥ Dancing In The Lord night was CRAZAAAYYY! Albeit not having as many songs as last year, we dragged the songs we sang and introduced many new songs! Everyone was like wacky man! Jumping up and down, dancing to the actions, doing the TRAIN a few times! Even the graduates who were backing up went totally bonkers! I can tell you, everyone was dying by the end of it. I nearly lost my voice and was fed two big spoonfuls of honey by Josh. Yuck! That was some nasty stuff.
♥ All the testimonies. The tears just wouldn't stop pouring. THAT, took courage, pride and dignity to say out in public. *HUGS*
♥ My fourth Inner Healing of the year proved to be the most peaceful one. Yes, I cried. But, only for a very short while. It felt really serene and calm as the Lord's healing spirit came over me. Singing the songs after that only highlighted the moment of serenity and peace.
♥ Getting only two and a half hours of sleep on Monday morning. Gosh. I was dead and slept throughout the journey back to SIC on the bus.
♥ Family Night was the BOMB! Spicy-er than PANAS man! Icebreakers were a blast! Pink Scarf was really touching! Broken & Beautiful was incredulous! Most of all, I am so proud at all the participants who performed their workshop presentations: dance, drama, song, blacklight, stomp! With barely two and a half hours of practice, they were simply a delight to watch! Kudos you guys!
♥ This year, Family Night was extra special. We didn't end it with 'Friends', hence everyone was not as emotional. This year, we ended it with JOY! Our theme song started the hype with its fast tempo and happy beat! Then, the music of 'You Deserve' came on! Guess what? Everyone was singing out loud, praising God, jumping like maniacs, dancing with no reserves! All in front of the parents and other adults who were probably watching us in shock or something. But, WE were not ashamed. Everything had changed with God making a presence in our lives!
All in all, SIC Youth Rally 2009 made a difference.
JESUS ROCKS! :)
Will post pics as soon as I get them.
